  • Because drawing is often the first expression of an artist’s idea, does this mean that it is superior to other media?

Drawing is an exploratory medium.

Matisse described his work as “drawing with scissors”, while Kentridge combined drawing with film. These artists pushed the boundaries of the drawing art form to create something unique.
