Strategic Healthcare

The next component of your Project is evaluating alternatives and strategic choice as part of the Recommendations section for your analysis. Using the Project Case Study provided conduct an evaluation of alternatives and strategic choice pertaining to your recommendations for this project. Your recommendations should be based directly on what you outlined in your assessment and include the following:

Strategies for intervening in potential weaknesses and threats discovered in your market and SWOT analyses

Strategies for attracting healthcare professionals and staff

Feasibility for development satellite clinic

Value-adding strategies, support, and resources (e.g., equipment, technology, etc.)

Development of strategic initiatives

Consider the use of corporate-level, divisional-level, organizational-level, and unit-level strategies in your recommendations section and include a summary of key points.

For this assignment, develop a written report of your recommendations section and use the example strategic thinking maps from previous modules as a tool to assist with the different facets of the strategic planning process.

The map is to be used only as a supplement for your written recommendations.

Your well-written recommendations should meet the following requirements:

Be 3-4 pages in length, not including the cover, abstract (optional), or reference pages.

Utilize headings to organize the content in your work.

Include the strategic thinking map in addition to/or as a part of the 3-4 pages of content.

Include a minimum of four references with associated in-text citations.

Be formatted according to the APA writing requirements.

Advanced Registered Nurses Work

Advanced registered nurses work in highly collaborative environments and must collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in order to provide excellent patient care. Besides knowing the role and scope of one’s own practice, it is essential to understand the role and scope of other nurse specialties to ensure effective collaboration among nurses, the organization, and other professionals with whom advanced registered nurses regularly interact.

Use the “Nursing Roles Graphic Organizer Template” to differentiate how advanced registered nurse roles relate to and collaborate with different areas of nursing practice. Compare your future role with one of the following: nurse educator; nurse leader; family nurse practitioner; acute care nurse practitioner; graduate nurse with an emphasis/specialty in public health, health care administration, business, or informatics; clinical nurse specialist; doctor of nursing practice. Indicate in the appropriate columns on the template which roles you are comparing.

Make sure to compare the following areas of practice in your graphic organizer:

Ethics

Education

Leadership

Public Health

Health Care Administration

Informatics

Business/Finance

Specialty (e.g., Family, Acute Care)

Include any regulatory bodies or certification agencies that provide guidance or parameters on how these roles incorporate concepts into practice.

You are required to cite three to five sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and nursing content.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are not required to submit this assignment to Turnitin.

Hello,

I will need a cover page, then the nurse graphic that I sent to you then the last the reference page where you willl provide the references that you used to do the work. As a previously sent on the assignment it needs to be at least 3 to 5 reference sources. Also my computer is a MacBook Air and I have pages as my program for writing so if you sent to me needs to open on this one. Also if possible at the end convert the file to PDF as the university website request PDF.

Ultrasound/Sonography Technician Report

.body of paragraph must be 3-5 pages with a separate cover page and a reference page.

2.Use correct spelling, grammar and syntax.

3. Include a minimum of six different sources of information (2 books, 2 professional journal articles, 2 websites)

4. There are five areas of the health care career that you will be writing about: Job description; Education and certification; Employment; Professional Activities; and a conclusion/reflection.

I. Job description

Describe the care/service provided by the healthcare professional. List professional certification or registration required (specific details will be in section II)

II. Education and certification

Educational requirements for the profession/occupation. Different types of educational institutions offering the program. What is the exact length of time and approximate cost of the education required? List degrees or certifications earned.

III. Employment

Job availability (what and where?) Growth trends in the field. Number of jobs advertised in the Sunday Herald, and other sources. Experience/No experience required. Salaries-Entry level and with experience. Advancement opportunities, with or without additional education.

IV. Professional Activities

Local/State/National professional organizations (cost to join as a student) Professional journals with address to obtain and cost. Is continuing education available and expected in the profession/occupation. Are continuing educational units (CEUs) required for this profession? If so how many and how often?

V. Conclusion/reflection

Reflect on how you see yourself “fitting” into this profession. What did you discover in your exploration of this healthcare field? What did you find meaningful and important to you?

Personal values

Imagine that you are a first-line manager of a department in a relatively small hospital located in a semi-rural area. For many months there had been rumors of a possible merger with another semi-rural hospital half again the size of yours located about 12miles away. Both administration and the board of directors had been declining to comment on the rumors although it was apparent that some kind of negotiations were underway. In about mid-November all managers were officially notified that the merger would take place effective the first of January. The two hospitals were to become a single corporate entity with two locations, and functions and services would be consolidated wherever practical. Describe in detail the possible effects of the merger and all that it entails on you and your position.

2) It is stated in the chapter that the three ways of getting employees to implement change are: Tell them what to do; Sell them on what must be done;and Involve them in determining the substance and direction of the change. For each of the three means, describe an instance in which it is a preferred or even essential approach and an instance in which it is an inappropriate or perhaps even harmful approach.

3) If you were hiring a new employee in your work unit, how would you rank the importance of the following qualities? That is, how much weight would you assign to each in making your decision? Explain.

Personal values (ex. work ethic and integrity)

Individual intelligence

Conscientiousness in performing the job

Some employers use integrity tests as part of the screening process. Are there problems with integrity tests? Can you test for integrity?

If you were a work unit supervisor, which of the following do you think is more important to improving organizational performance? Explain.

Encouraging employees to participate in work and organizational decisions

Setting clear, challenging work goals

As a manager you realize the supervisors who report to you make errors when they rate their employees (e.g., too lenient, rate everyone the same, etc.). You notice a consultant is offering a training session on how to avoid appraisal rating errors. How successful do you think such a course would be in eliminating these errors?

As a supervisor, if you asked or surveyed your employees about the importance of pay as a factor in making job decisions,do you think employees would over-state or understate its value to them?

In order to receive full credit you must give complete and detailed answers for all Three (3) questions. You should have a minimum of 2references (only 1 reference can be the textbook, the other references should be from outside credible sources). Follow APAGuidelines

Evaluate the cultural competence of the healthcare organization presented in the Integrated Safety-Net Health Care

Evaluate the cultural competence of the healthcare organization presented in the Integrated Safety-Net Health Care System case study using a population health approach. Please also read the supplemental Interpreting Services Program document to ensure that you have all of the information about the Montefiore Medical Center you will need to address the critical elements.

Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Patient engagement activities and communication strategies

a) Critique the organization’s translation and interpretation services that may be available to non-English-speaking patients. In other words, does

the organization provide such services? How many different languages are supported? How might the organization communicate with a speaker

of a language that is not supported? Be sure to provide evidence that supports your claims.

b) Analyze the extent to which educational resources and materials are available in languages other than English. Be sure to provide specific

examples.

c) Assess organizational staff training on patient engagement and communications for its potential to foster cultural competence. Be sure to provide

evidence to support your claims.

d) Identify gaps or deficiencies that may exist in the organization’s patient engagement and communications strategies, and provide evidence to

support your claims. If you feel there are none, be sure to explain your reasoning.

5-Let me put my share for peer-review as you mentioned this in your post. Feedback from colleagues with similar backgrounds, expertise and knowledge can be a valuable asset. Positive peer reviews contribute to increased funding opportunities, academic advancement and a good reputation. On the other hand, peer reviewers can fall prey to bias, both positive and negative, which can affect the prospects of the research being reviewed, independent of its quality (APA, 2018).

Peer reviewers are expected to meet strict deadlines, which is a challenge when one has numerous responsibilities. Reviewers are also expected to remain impartial during the review, which can be difficult if the research being reviewed is, for example, submitted by a rival researcher. During the review process, the reviewer must knowledgeably assess the quality of the research, honestly judge the importance of the research and must preserve confidentiality. It is essential that researchers are aware of the expectations and commitments required of a peer reviewer prior to becoming one. Although participating in peer review is a way to provide professional service, those who cannot meet the requirements should seriously consider whether being a peer reviewer is right for them.

6-You mention Meta-analysis in your post, I have some more information about meta-analysis. Meta-analyses are a subset of systematic review. A systematic review attempts to collate empirical evidence that fits prespecified eligibility criteria to answer a specific research question (NCBI,2018). The key characteristics of a systematic review are a clearly stated set of objectives with predefined eligibility criteria for studies; an explicit, reproducible methodology; a systematic search that attempts to identify all studies that meet the eligibility criteria; an assessment of the validity of the findings of the included studies (e.g., through the assessment of risk of bias); and a systematic presentation and synthesis of the attributes and findings from the studies used. Systematic methods are used to minimize bias, thus providing more reliable findings from which conclusions can be drawn and decisions made than traditional review methods. Systematic reviews need not contain a meta-analysis. there are times when it is not appropriate or possible; however, many systematic reviews contain meta-analyses.

Analysis Group Paper

This week you will begin a group paper that you will develop over the next few weeks. By Day 3 of this week, you will be placed in a collaborative group and provided with a work area for your group (See the Groups area below Week 11 in the left-hand navigation bar. If you do not see your team area by the end of Day 3, contact your Instructor.)

Before you begin to work with your group, read the information below describing the paper. Then join your group, introduce yourself, and begin work on selecting a topic.

To prepare:

· Review the Peer Evaluation Form for important information on how this assignment is graded.

· Identify a group facilitator.

· Within your group, select a topic relevant to interprofessional leadership and the health care field on which to focus your group paper. The following are some potential topics for your group to consider:

o Matrix organizations

o Accountable care organizations

o Horizontal and vertical organizations

o Role conflict and ambiguity

o Employee recruitment and selection

o Interpersonal relationships in the C-suite of organizations (the relationships between the CEO, CFO, and CNO)

o Resistance to change

o Succession planning

o Whistle blowing

o “Just” culture

o Team Stepps

· When your group has selected a topic, the group facilitator will submit the topic to the Instructor for approval on the Discussion Board in the Week 5 Group Project Topic Forum.

· Conduct research on your topic using the Walden Library and other credible sources.

To complete:

As a group, write a 3- to 5 (page count does not include title and reference page) page paper that includes the following:

· Section 1: Introduction

· Section 2: Significance of the topic (based on literature that speaks to the relevancy of the concept selected in terms of interprofessional leadership)

· Section 3: Review of the literature related to the concept that the group selects (current best practices, positive or negative impact on leadership or health care organizations, etc.)

· Section 4: Application to nursing (e.g., implications or consequences for nursing leaders)

· Section 5: Conclusion

All group members are expected to collaborate fully on this project, and your group paper should demonstrate an original and thoughtful application of the ideas presented in the Learning Resources and the research literature.

The treatment of anaphylactic shock varies depending on a patient’s physiological response to the alteration

The treatment of anaphylactic shock varies depending on a patient’s physiological response to the alteration. Immediate medical intervention and emergency room visits are vital for some patients, while others can be treated through basic outpatient care.

Consider the January 2012 report of a 6-year-old girl who went to her school nurse complaining of hives and shortness of breath. Since the school did not have any medication under her name to use for treatment and was not equipped to handle her condition, she was sent to an emergency room where she was pronounced dead. This situation has raised numerous questions about the progression of allergic reactions, how to treat students with severe allergies, how to treat students who develop allergic reactions for the first time, and the availability of epinephrine in schools. If you were the nurse at the girl’s school, how would you have handled the situation? How do you know when it is appropriate to treat patients yourself and when to refer them to emergency care?

To Prepare

· Review “Anaphylactic Shock” in Chapter 24 of the Huether and McCance text, “Distributive Shock” in Chapter 10 of the McPhee and Hammer text, and the Jacobsen and Gratton article in the Learning Resources.

· Identify the multisystem physiologic progression that occurs in anaphylactic shock. Think about how these multisystem events can occur in a very short period of time.

· Consider when you should refer patients to emergency care versus treating as an outpatient.

· Select two patient factors different from the one you selected in this week’s first Discussion: genetics, gender, ethnicity, age, or behavior. Reflect on how the factors you selected might impact the process of anaphylactic shock.

Post an explanation of the physiological progression that occurs in anaphylactic shock. Then, describe the circumstances under which you would refer patients for emergency care versus treating as an outpatient. Finally, explain how the patient factors you selected might impact the process of anaphylactic shock.
