Big 5 Personality Test

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read Chapter 7 from the Harré (2006) e-book as well as the required Maslow (1943), Freud (1910), Bandura (1999), and the United States Office of Personnel Management (n.d.) articles.

One approach to understanding personality is using trait theories. The most influential trait approach contends that five traits, or factors called the “Big 5,” lie at the core of personality. The five factors are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism (Emotional Stability).

This week, you will complete two different versions of the Big 5 Personality Test. First, go through the Qualtrics platform (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. to take the complete test online (note – you will not receive results from the online assessment as this portion of the assignment is more about the experience of taking this type of assessment online). After you have completed the online test, you will see a link to download the Big Five Personality Short Form document version. Click the link and save the Big Five Personality Short Form document to your computer. Complete and score the short form version within the downloaded document. Once you have completed both the online and document versions attach the completed document short form to your initial post. In the discussion forum analyze and briefly explain the Big 5 Personality Test as a scientific tool. Detail your experience with both the online and document versions and give your opinion as to which of the two provided the better experience. Be sure to cite specific reasons for your statements.

Using the PSY600 Making Sense of the Big 5 Personality Short Form tool as a guide, analyze the results from your document version. (Note: This is for educational purposes. There is no right or wrong personality type.) Assess how accurate the results are based on your understanding of yourself and the results as analyzed. Refute any areas with which you disagree providing examples which may disprove the assessment results. Evaluate the contemporary applications of personality tests today using the information provided in the United States Office of Personnel Management (n.d.) article on assessment and selection. Assess how knowing one’s personality type can benefit them personally and professionally.

Diagnosing Organization

Hide Submission Folder InformationSubmission FolderM4 Assignment 2 SubmissionInstructions Assignment 2: Diagnosing Organizational Systems Report

An organizational assessment is the process evaluation of the various areas within the organization in terms of what is working well and what could be changed. An organizational assessment determines how organizational factors in the internal environment affect the competitive situation. It is a full system view of where the organization stands in order to maximize the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness in achieving its mission. When viewed as an open system, an organization can be diagnosed at three levels: the organizational level, the group level, and the individual level.

For this assignment, you will complete an activity designed to simulate the process of evaluating an organization and selecting or designing and conducting an organizational assessment.

Directions:

For this activity, identify an organization to diagnose. It is best to select an organization where you are currently or were previously employed. Think of this organization as a system. Include the following in 4–5 pages: Identify and document all of the following at the organizational level: (1–2 pages) The organization’s mission/purpose All inputs from the system All outputs from the system All processes your organization performs to transform inputs to outputs Organizational environments Organizational alignment Feedback mechanisms to determine correctness or performance measures Develop an organizational assessment tool (ten questions) at the individual level. This can be a format of your choosing, such as a written questionnaire or a SurveyMonkey form. (1–2 pages) Identify a situation in your organization to be assessed. It should consider funding streams, workflow processes, organizational structure, outcome measurement, client satisfaction, employee turnover, the capacity for change, etc. Develop questions you believe will assess the situation effectively. Again, write ten questions in total for your tool. Explain your rationale for your approach in developing the questions.
(1 paragraph) Explain how you would administer the tool to the employees in your chosen organization. For example, is this a one-time event, an annual survey, or an as-needed assessment? Note: You do not have to administer the tool; just develop a plan for administering it.
(1 paragraph) Assess and explain your organization’s capacity to change and achieve greater effectiveness including financial performance, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.
(1–2 paragraphs) Select an appropriate communication and feedback method for how you would want to present the assessment and intervention results to your identified organization.
(1–2 paragraphs) Turn in a copy of the tool you created along with your paper.

Your final product will be a Microsoft Word document approximately 10–12 pages in length. Utilize four to five scholarly sources in your research. Your paper should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

PSY 101 Written Assignment 3

We will discuss what psychophysics is and who were the people that pioneered this new way of looking at everything in our world. We will also summarize the workings of the visual system, describe the attentional processes, and touch base on classical conditioning.

influence and persuasion

Submit a 3- to 5-page paper that includes the following:  Using either the foot-in-the-door strategy or the door-in-the-face strategy, explain how you will get The Board to attend an information meeting about the group’s proposal. Explain in enough detail to demonstrate that you understand the strategy, and why you believe the strategy you chose will work to motivate The Board to come to the meeting. Assume your strategy worked and The Board is now at the meeting where your group is going to present their proposal. Your next goal is to get the board to feel dissonance. Explain why you want the Board to experience dissonance. Next, based on your readings, discuss the specific activity that will believe will induce these feelings and why you chose this activity. Based on the techniques to relieve dissonance discussed in Chapter 11, describe an activity you will provide at the meeting to help The Board relieve their feelings of dissonance, and explain why your activity will be effective in helping them to relieve their dissonance. Why will relieving the Board’s dissonance be an important part of your meeting with them? Evaluate the ethics of using these compliance strategies and explain your reasoning based on specific ethical guidelines.

Critical Analysis II

In 2-3 pages, respond to the following: Identify the four causes and effects you have selected to incorporate into an integrated critical analysis narrative. Write an integrated critical analysis narrative that incorporates the four causes and effects you identified. Explain your reaction to the results of your critical analysis. Could these causes have been prevented? Which one do you think was most important in leading to the problem? Make sure that you support the causes and effects by citing the research literature that you have found on your topic.

week 11 question 1

When you meet someone new, your brain automatically uses schemas to identify characteristics or behavior that would allow you to classify the person into a group that you may already know. While this is an adaptive and helpful strategy that the human brain possesses, when taken to an extreme, it could lead to the formation of unhelpful or incorrect stereotypes about groups. Take a moment and consider what you already know about intersex, transgender, or other gender variant groups from personal experience, academic or professional work, or influences such as the media. Is your knowledge sufficient to bring sensitivity to work with members of gender variant populations?

In order to bring full sensitivity and awareness to bear on interacting with members of a particular group, humans must bring conscious thought to their perceptions, in addition to the automatic thinking that occurs. In other words, acknowledge commonalities related to gender variance, but also research information on groups, take the time to become aware of individual differences, and always seek to bring cultural sensitivity to your professional work.

For this Discussion, you will research a specific gender variant group of your choice and explain strategies that could be used to increase sensitivity toward members of the group. Remember that, just as biological and psychological diversity exists in other facets of human life (e.g., cognition, personality), so too does it exist in sexuality and gender.

To prepare

· Select a group such as intersex, transgender, genderqueer, or a third gender with which you are not familiar (or the one you know the least about) and search for interviews, personal narratives, blogs, or any other form of information related to this specific population.

By Day 3

Post a description of the group or population you selected. Describe how your impressions, feelings or perspectives changed about this group as you researched the group. Looking forward, what strategies would you use to continue to raise your awareness and sensitivity toward this group?
