identify long term issues from new issues with obtaining adequate nutrition

The biggest barrier to Bana’s care is her lack of understanding what exactly is going to be done to provide her adequate care in America. The linguistic barriers don’t allow Bana to appropriately be questioned privately or ensure her understanding of interventions and follow up. If she were experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV) her husband could interpret for her which would leave her at increased risk without the knowledge of the provider. Per JAMA (2018) she is at increased risk for IPV because of her age and her recent assault which could have been perpetrated by her husband, we are unsure because she does not understand what we are asking her. What is the priority action for you to take at this time?

My priority would be to get a medical interpreter and then proceed with the visit. I would question her further about her assault in Syria and if it included rape. The timing of her pregnancy is close to the time she was assaulted, and it should be explored. It could create another stressor for her and her husband that just adds to their financial issues and adjusting to life in a new country. What action is most important for you to take to ensure the health and safety of the fetus?

Per the CDC (2012a) refugees should have a complete H&P with comprehensive labs that include a CBC, UA, and glucose. Diseases that are easily transmittable such as TB, malaria, lead, parasites, and HIV/AIDS should be tested for as well, but HIV/AIDS is no longer tested for everyone, but I should be done as part of Bana’s pregnancy care. She is at increased risk of transmission if she was raped during her assault (CDC, 2012a). Testing for STIs should be done as part of her pregnancy care as well. Given Bana’s financial situation, you are concerned about her and her family having adequate nutrition. Which intervention would best address this concern?

Testing for anemias and deficiencies should be done. Getting a comprehensive H & P related to nutrition can help to identify long term issues from new issues with obtaining adequate nutrition. Directing Bana to local places where she can get help with food such as WIC and state aid or places where she can obtain food like local food pantries should be done (CDC, 2012b).References

Compare the three current health care financing and funding models

Answer the following questions on Public Health Services:

The Public Health Service originated in 1798 as the Marine Hospital Service. Identify two (2) motivating factors that prompted that development.
Why, in the 1960s, were the health-related programs of Medicare, Medicaid, and Neighborhood Health Centers assigned to non-health federal agencies instead of the Public Health Service? Please provide two (2) examples.
Public health efforts and those of private medicine complement each other and together serve the spectrum of health service needs of American society. Why, then, has their relationship been sometimes contentious and have they not consistently worked together proactively to improve the health status of Americans? Please provide two (2) examples.
Contrast the population-based orientation of public health with the individual-centered focus of private health practitioners. Provide two (2) examples.
Deaths in the United States that result from preventable causes total approximately 40% of all deaths each year. Deaths result from tobacco use, poor dietary habits and sedentary lifestyles. What additional two (2) actions should/could the U.S. health care system use to combat the factors that contribute to preventable deaths or incentivize more healthy living lifestyles among the most at-risk populations?

Prepare a fifteen to twenty (15 to 20) slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation with detailed scholarly speaker notes in which you:

What are the implications for public health and wellbeing

Please write a paper of 8-10 pages, 1.5 spaced (no extra-large fonts please, or super-wide margins!). Write on a food-related topic that interests you. Some choose to develop a topic they are working on independently, which is fine so long as it relates to food issues. Be guided by the syllabus and readings. Ask key questions appropriate for this class:

–What does your topic illustrate about some kind of food system?
–What are the implications for public health and wellbeing; environmental preservation?
–What does your topic bring that’s new to studies of food systems and food security?

Your discussion may be very negative, such as research into the global modification of native seeds as is occurring today. That’s fine, the above questions still apply. Maps, photos and other images are helpful, particularly with unfamiliar contexts.

GENERAL ADVICE re. WRITING TERM PAPERS
–Relate your writing to prevailing research. What is the discussion out there, what are the broader issues, why is this all important?
–Always reference your work. Remember, whenever you quote or base your ideas on the work of others, you must document your source. If a reading contributes to your arguments in the paper, give the authors credit.
–Be very careful to describe the context of what you are writing about. Where, when? It often helps to provide dates, particularly if you are discussing some social change or the launching of a new system. When did these occur? Also, “where?” It helps to provide spatial and geographic information. Don’t assume your reader knows what you’re talking about. Give your reader some idea of how widespread a phenomenon or practice is occurring: is it confined to the U.S. for instance, or widespread?

Assignment 3: U.S. Health Policy Decision I suffer no illusions that this will be an easy process. It will be hard. But I also know that nearly a century after Teddy Roosevelt first called for reform, the cost of our healthcare has weighed down our economy and the conscience of our nation long enough. So, let there be no doubt: healthcare reform cannot wait, it must not wait, and it will not wait another year. —President Barack Obama, February 24, 2009 Using your textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research the President’s proposed healthcare system changes. Refer to the research you did in M6: Assignment 2 and the issues you identified. Examine how the proposed changes would impact your state’s public health insurance program. • Overall, would your state benefit from the proposed changes or would it experience greater challenges? • What barriers do you see in implementing the proposed changes? Write your response to each question in 1 to 2 paragraphs. By Friday, December 9, 2016, deliver your assignment to the appropriate Discussion Area. Through Sunday, December 11, 2016, review and comment on your peers’ responses. Review the barriers to implementation identified by your classmates and offer solutions. All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources. Assignment 3 Grading Criteria Maximum Points Estimated the overall impact of the proposed changes on own state of residence. 8 Identified barriers to implementation of the proposed changes. 8 Supported statements with relevant information from reliable sources. 8 Actively contributed to the discussion by providing points of view with rationale, challenging points of the discussion, or drawing relationships between points of the discussion.

You have just attended a manager′s meeting about establishing self-directed, high-performing teams. The company is concerned because some of the managers are having success building self-directed, high-performing teams while others are not. A discussion occurred that identified the characteristics of the successful team building elements and compared them to those managers that have not been successful. This is a situation where those who are struggling need to learn from those who are doing well. The discussions included identifying what could be going wrong and what steps might be taken for success. You have been asked to write a research report that summarizes the meeting and offers some recommendations that might be helpful to those managers who are struggling. Specifically, your report must include: •Identification of the difficulties the managers may be having in establishing self-directed, high-performing teams •Identification of the successful characteristic of establishing self-directed, high-performing teams

Explain how public policy has shaped the development of the U.S. healthcare system

You are the manager of a new primary care clinic located about twenty five (25) miles outside of a small city (population of 50,000). With five (5) family physicians, two (2) nurse practitioners, two (2) physicians’ assistants (PAs), and twenty (20) clinical support staff consisting of RNs, LPNs, and CMAs, the clinic provides primary care services to a diverse community of people living and working outside the city limits. Originally a rural area, the community has been growing and now includes promising opportunities in employment, education, and comfortable living spaces for young families. However, there are still many residents who struggle to make ends meet with older farms that have belonged to families for generations.

The central city includes two (2) large acute care facilities, and one (1) tertiary care facility that is known for its excellent pulmonary care. Both acute care hospitals provide the usual services such as labor and delivery, outpatient surgery, chronic diseases care, etc. and have fully equipped ancillary departments, such as lab and radiology. Up until this point, the residents have used the facilities’ emergency departments for routine illnesses and conditions when their private physicians were not readily available.

Write a five to seven (5-7) page paper in which you:

Analyze some of the key social, political, and economic factors that have led to the proliferation of urgent care facilities and primary care practices over the last 20-30 years.

Create a comprehensive mission statement for the clinic, and discuss how it will facilitate the provision of quality services.

Analyze and discuss one (1) or more directions the clinic might take to grow its business. Determine what factors you would consider when deciding what services to provide in-house and which ones to affiliate with other institutions.

Decide how you will determine if the clinic is meeting its goals. Identify three (3) performance measurements you could use to evaluate the success of the clinic’s services. Begin by naming a goal, and then identify a quantifiable measurement you could use for each to determine if you are coming close or falling short of the goal.

Determine how you would then address whatever opportunities for improvement seem to exist and what processes you would put in place.

Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:

Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

Include a source list. Citations and sources must follow SWS format. The source list is not included in the required page length.

compare and contrast the legal structure and governance of a profit and not-for-profit hospital

The past decade has seen an enormous surge in social marketing to convey various messages. Social marketing has also been established as an essential health communications tool to promote health initiatives. Social marketing should not be the only tool to communicate information to the general public, but to complement the existing practices in place.
This week, you will examine the use of social marketing as a communication channel in healthcare.
Review the following website article:
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (2012). Gateway to health communication & social marketing practice. Retrieved from http://www.cdc.gov/healthcommunication/
Using the readings for the week, the South University Online Library, and the Internet, create a 15- to 20-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation with a separate title and reference slide. Include the following:
• Justify why social marketing is needed in today’s society to promote health initiatives.
• List the numerous communication channels that are used in developing a health campaign.
• Describe the process used to identify the population segment that can benefit from a specific health behavior.
• Explain how you will evaluate the effectiveness of your communications campaign.
• Provide a specific example of how social marketing was used in a health campaign.

In this assignment you will compare and contrast the legal structure and governance of a profit and not-for-profit hospital. Also, examine the benefits and disadvantages of Public-Private partnerships. Write a four- to five-page report evaluating each option and provide your recommendation of the type of structure that would best serve the needs of your community.
Your report should address the following substantive requirements:
• Describe and assess each international entity and rules it must follow.
• Compare and contrast the three types, including advantages and disadvantages for each.
• Argue your recommendation for your chosen structure that would best serve the needs of your community.

When quantifying the extent of disease, what things need to be taken into consideration and how would you go about reporting out your findings?

Sullivan (2012) provides a comprehensive overview of the relationship of biostatistics to public health.
Consider how biostatistics is used to quantify the evidence and explore the unknown in health issues, most particularly in public health. Review the situation described below and respond to the questions that follow:

Suppose you want to determine the average number of women affected by cardiovascular disease in the United States.

• What kind of study designs might prove useful in determining this average? Provide examples.
• When quantifying the extent of disease, what things need to be taken into consideration and how would you go about reporting out your findings?
Give reasons and examples to support your responses. Be sure to use at least two scholarly resources other than your textbook.

Write a 3-page paper in Word format, utilizing proper research paper format which means including a title page, header, page numbers, an abstract, use of Level I and II headings, and a properly formatted references page
1) Scenario: Pursuant to the 2010 Health Care Reform Bill, the United States will be challenged to bring into its health care population some 32 million more patients. Formerly, many of these patients were uninsured. Some of these patients were seen and treated in safety-net hospitals, but mostly in emergency rooms. Reliable, independent studies have shown that this population is low income and is disproportionately made up of ethnic and racial minorities; however, it is important to point out that due to the economic downturn at the turn of the decade surrounding 2010, this 32 million will include a significant number of non-minority unemployed individuals. Consider that health care institutions must move beyond simply taking in and treating the sick and injured who come through the door. In the near future, the health of the community will be measured in terms of low disease burden, high vaccination rates, controlled chronic disease rates, healthier life styles, and a better educated public. Clearly, the impacts to the health care system will have to be addressed.

2) Write a paper (1,250-1,500 words) that describes the roles and responsibilities of health care management in addressing this pressing dilemma. Apply the following questions to generate your conclusions about how you would proceed:

a) How do the considerations under the concept of governance apply?

b) What are the major financial issues being faced?

c) What are the major physical issues being faced?

d) What are the major demographic issues being faced?
